The Australian cricket commentator Dean Jones was once again seen taking a dig at the Indian cricketer, Parthiv Patel. Parthiv was recently retained by the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. Commenting on this, Jones picked up the at the height of the wicketkeeper-batsman on social media profile.
However, it all started off when Jones questioned RCB for keeping the batsman in the squad. Parthiv Patel then came up with a quick witty reply, telling Jones:
“So that u can be at peace during ipl in #selectdugout….”

In the meantime, every team has disclosed their list of retained and released players on 15th November. RCB has released a list of big names with the list of retained players ahead of the IPL auction deemed to be held on 19th December in Kolkata.
The former New Zealand cricket team coach, Mike Hesson has recently joined Bangalore’s office as the Director of Cricket Operations. He welcomed all the retained players by posting a message on Twitter. The former Aussie batsman Jones took the opportunity and queried the decision of the team to retain Parthiv.
“You kept @parthiv9?” Jones wrote on Hesson’s tweet.

The 34-years-old Parthiv returned RCB ahead of the 11th season of the IPL. He played as the backup wicket-keeper in place of Quinton de Kock and batted in 6 matches, scoring 153 runs at an average of 30.60. The following year, the baby-faced keeper played all the 14 matches of the IPL 2019 and though RCB couldn’t manage to cross the league stage, he did his bit and scored 373 runs.
IPL 2019 had been anything but another dismal season for RCB as once again they failed to play up to the expectations of their fans. With a disastrous start in the 12th edition of IPL, RCB finished the last in the points table. By the time they started to put up the fight, the entry in the playoffs was already out of their reach.
Jones again picks at Parthiv Patel:
However, once again the former Australian cricketer and present cricket commentator has decided to pick on Parthiv Patel. Responding to a fan’s tweet, Jones deliberately picked on Parthiv, taunting his height. The fan has asked the commentator about the possible opener for RCB in the upcoming season of the cash-rich league.
I think @parthiv9 is too small ! https://t.co/0MxNiXLr5g
