While the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020 is more than six months away to begin, former Australian cricketer Dean Jones has predicted the semi-finalists of this forthcoming tournament.
Australia will host the seventh edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup which has been scheduled to be played from 18th October to 15th November 2020. A total of 16 teams will participate in this competition. While the top eight teams will begin their tournament journey through the Super 12 stage, starting on 24th October 2020, the other eight teams will start the tournament through the First Round.

As eight teams have been equally divided into two groups in the First Round stage, the best two teams from each group will qualify for the Super 12 stage.
In Group 1 of the Super 12 stage, the hosts Australia will face the defending champions West Indies, Pakistan, New Zealand and the other two qualified teams. Meanwhile, England, India, South Africa, Afghanistan and the remaining two qualified teams will fight in the Group 2 of the Super 12 stage.
In the recent Q&A session on his official Twitter account, Dean Jones has revealed his favourite semi-finalists for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020.
Dean Jones believes India, Australia, England, West Indies/Pakistan will qualify for the semi-finals of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020
According to him, India and England will be the semi-finalists from the Group 2 while Australia will be one of the semi-finalists from the Group 1 along with either West Indies or Pakistan.

While the defending champions West Indies are the only team to win two T20 World Cup trophies (2012 and 2016), Pakistan (2009) and England (2010) have won this trophy for once each along with the inaugural ICC World T20 champions India (2007).

However, Australia haven’t won this trophy yet as their best record in this tournament history was finishing as the runners-up in the ICC World T20 2010. As they will host the upcoming edition, it will be the best opportunity for them to end this drought.
While Sydney Cricket Ground (Sydney) and Adelaide Oval (Adelaide) will host the semi-finals on 11th and 12th November 2020 respectively, iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (Melbourne) will organise the final of this tournament on 15th November 2020.
