India vs West Indies 2018: Kemar Roach Set To Play Second Test

West Indies have received a much-needed boost ahead of the do-or-die second Test against India. Their pace spearhead Kemar Roach has returned to India and is likely to lead the attack in the upcoming game.
Just two days before the series-opener at Rajkot, West Indies suffered a big setback when Kemar Roach had to fly back home after the death of his grandmother. Skipper Jason Holder’s injury had further made things tough for the Caribbean outfit. Holder was ruled out of the game due to an ankle injury.

In Roach and Holder’s absence, the West Indies attack was torn apart by India. Asked to bowl first, they started proceedings on a good note with Shannon Gabriel dismissing KL Rahul for a duck in the very first over. But from there on, it was an one-way traffic in favour of India.
Prithvi Shaw, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja scored centuries while Cheteshwar Pujara and Rishabh Pant scored fifties as India posted a mammoth 649 for 9.

In reply, West Indies were all out for 181 and 196 as India registered their biggest win in Tests. The hosts thrashed the visitors by an innings and 272 runs to take an unassailable lead in the two-match series.

West Indies will be looking to bounce back in the second Test and the presence of Roach will be a big boost for them. Head coach Stuart Law confirmed that Roach has arrived in India.
“Roach is currently is resting up in Hyderabad. He reached India yesterday and has straightaway gone to Hyderabad rather than coming here for a day and then flying out with the team,” Law told Sporstar.

“To have someone of his (Roach’s) quality to come up with (Jason) Holder and (Shanon) Gabriel gives our attack a bit more strength (for the second Test),” he added.
The second Test gets underway on October 12.
