Shoaib Akhtar Requests India To Make 10,000 Ventilators For Pakistan; Proposes India-Pakistan Series

While Pakistan is also battling against the novel COVID-19 or coronavirus, the former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar has requested the neighbour country India to help them by providing 10,000 ventilators in this crisis period. Akhtar also came up with a special suggestion in this crisis period.
The coronavirus has forced to stop the daily busy life worldwide. While more than 1,400,000 coronavirus cases have been reported, more than 300,000 people have recovered, but also more than 80,000 people have lost their lives. Both India and Pakistan are also struggling to handle the situation amid the coronavirus outbreak. Like the other sports, cricket has also been affected in this situation as most of the recent games have been postponed.
In this crisis period, Shoaib Akhtar has urged India to help them by providing 10,000 ventilators. Akhtar has added that if India helps Pakistan in this situation, they will remember this gesture forever.

Akhtar recently told PTI, “If India can make 10,000 ventilators for us, Pakistan will remember this gesture forever. But we can only propose the matches. The rest is up to the authorities (to decide).”
Shoaib Akhtar believes that it is the right time to organise a bilateral cricket series between India and Pakistan
On the other hand, Shoaib Akhtar has requested to organise the India-Pakistan cricket match in this crisis period. India last time played a Test match against Pakistan in December 2007. However, last time, they played the bilateral limited-overs series in January 2013. Since then, they only face each other in the International Cricket Council (ICC) or Asian Cricket Council (ACC) tournaments.

While the coronavirus has affected the world, including cricket, Akhtar believes that it will be the right time for India and Pakistan to fight together. In this suggestion, the 44-year-old Akhtar has proposed for the three-match international series. As India-Pakistan match will surely generate huge funds, Akhtar feels that the funds can be helpful for both the countries to fight against the coronavirus. Akhtar also believes that this series can help to resume the bilateral cricketing ties between India and Pakistan, which can ultimately improve the relations between both countries.

Akhtar said, “In this time of crisis, I want to propose a three-match series in which for the first time, the people of neither country would be upset at the outcome of the games.”
Last time, India and Pakistan met in the international cricket during the League Stage in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 (at Manchester on 16th June 2019). India maintained their unbeaten record against Pakistan in the World Cup history as they won that match by 89 runs.
